Decatur Park District staff will be conducting prescribed burns on March 14, 2023 at Red Tail Run. Golf Club.

Safety is our highest priority. Our key goal is to keep smoke from blowing towards homes, roadways, and other smoke-sensitive areas. Local police and fire officials are notified when and where burns will take place, so they can respond to people who report that they are seeing smoke from an area.

Fire is a natural process that shaped the Illinois landscape. Prescribed burning is an efficient and effective tool used to manage prairie and woodland habitat and maintain a healthy diversity of plants and animals.

Any current golf season pass holders can refer a new friend that has not had a golf season pass with the park district within the last 4 years, and both will earn 10% off a 2023 season pass!

There is no limit! Each new friend that purchases a season pass will earn the existing pass holder 10% off. (Refer 4 friends = 40% off / New pass holders 10% off)

Red Tail Run Golf Course will open March 3 and Hickory Point Golf Course will open March 4 – both at 9 a.m. Later dates at Red Tail Run and Hickory Point golf courses will be available, weather and course conditions permitting. “Early Spring Rates,” including 18 holes with cart, will extend through April 1: $35.
